Distribution / CONTRACT / Jan.31Office furniture firms positive for Q1Balance of BCFA members expect growth
A balance of 25 per cent of British Contract Furnishing Association (BCFA) members expect orders to grow in the first three months of this year.
The figure represents around a third of all companies who responded to the BCFA survey, with the majority expecting orders to be flat over the quarter.
In his commentary of the office furniture sector's performance in 2011, BCFA md Colin Watson writes that sales for the year fell marginally with export markets outperforming the UK.
He warns, however, that prospects in the public sector are bleak, and suggests the wise will look to 'add value through additional services such as design and logistics.'
