Sixth UK store for JYSK

Furniture giant to open Swadlincote store

Danish value furniture retailer JYSK is to open its first UK store in almost two years with a new showroom in south Derbyshire.

It is to take the former Primark unit at The Pipeworks, a retail scheme in Swadlincote near Burton-upon-Trent. It will employ up to 15 staff at the store, which will be its sixth in the UK.

JYSK hasn't opened a UK store since its Bolton shop opened in late 2010. Its other stores are in Lincoln, Mansfield, Blackburn and York. The company, one of the world's largest furniture retailers, had UK sales of £3.6m in 2011.
