New stores for Dwell, Hammonds & The Range

Retailers look to grow their store footprints

Tough trading conditions haven't quelled the expansion plans of furniture retailers Dwell and Hammonds while home and leisure chain the Range has also announced a raft of new stores.

Emerging furniture chain Dwell is to open new stores in Guildford and Cardiff over the new few weeks - taking its estate to 21 units plus its online sales channel.

Hammonds, the vertically integrated fitted furniture firm, says it will open half a dozen new units this year, starting with a store at Peterborough Garden Park next week.

Home retailer The Range, will sells assorted household items spanning furniture to DIY and decorating, is also set to bulk up its store estate. The retailer wants to open 16 stores this year at a rate of about one every three weeks.
