Oldham based Pulse Home Products will become one of Europe's major household goods distributors after its private equity owners agreed it sell its stake to a US consumer durables giant.
Jarden Corporation, a circa £2bn household goods company selling everything from coffee makers to bedding, has bought the 80 per cent share of turnaround investor Rutland Partners in a deal worth a reported £40m.
Pulse has sales of around £70m and is best known as the distributor of the Breville kitchen goods brand.
It will immediately become Jarden's European headquarters and will target expansion across the continent with access to its parent company's full product line.
