Dignitaries cut the ribbon at furniture and flooring building projects

Work completed and openings for Steed, Quick-Step & Webs

Laminate floor brand Quick-Step has celebrated the opening of its new flooring training academy while east Midlands upholstery producer Steed has opened its showroom extension.

Bernard Lee and Ann Cox, Major and Mayoress of Salford, officially opened the circa 7,000sqft training academy in the north west for Unilin, the Quick-Step brand owner, while Jessica Lee, MP for Erewash, cut the ribbon on upmarket sofa maker Steed's new 3,000sqft showroom.

Separately, the opening of Steed's showroom extension coincided with the completion of Webs Furniture Training's new £2.2m training facility in nearby Beeston.

Work began on the site last August with the project including the building of a new two-storey extension and the refurbishment of a Victorian Lace Mill. It was part-funded by the Skills Funding Agency.
