The acquisition gives Theodore Alexander, which specialises in classic British style cabinet furniture, the means to further expand its upholstery business.
TRS is based in High Point, North Carolina, and makes upmarket sofas with an emphasis on traditional styling. Theodore Alexander also has a US office but manufactures out of Asia.
Its distribution network takes in a number of world markets including the UK, where sales in recent years have averaged in the region of £3m.
