Fashion was the top seller as Home category sales flatlined at department store chain John Lewis last week.


The retail co-operative said revenue across the chain was up 0.6 per cent to £150.7m in the seven days to 13th December, boosted by 10 per cent growth in online sales.


Home squeezed past last year’s equivalent figure — rising 0.1 per cent — with Fashion the strongest performing category at +5.2 per cent year-on-year.


Electricals were down 4 per cent with the retailer attributing the fall to Black Friday promotions, which brought forward some of the tech spend.
