GardinerHaskinsBristolPrivately owned South West home department store retailer Gardiner Haskins returned strongly to growth in 2014 and boosted already high profit margins.


The retailer — which runs homecentres at Bristol and Cirencester — grew its top line by 4.8 per cent to £15.8m in the year to end December.


That was the group’s (Gardiner Holdings Ltd) first sales growth in four years, though profits have been excellent throughout. 2014 was no different, with pre-tax earnings rising 10.4 per cent to £1.9m.


Gardiner Haskins generated a net £1.6m (2013: £1.2m) cash from operations and £1.3m in all as net funds increased to £6.1m (2013: £4.9m) at the 31st December balance sheet date.


Shareholder funds rose to £17.8m (2013: £16.4m).
