Fair-trade furniture and accessories retailer Myakka has top scored in the Good Shopping Guide, a consumer reference book compiled by the Ethical Company Organisation.

The Somerset based firm — which trades online and through shops at Wincanton and Guildford — scored a maximum 100/100 for the guide, with factors including environmental impact, human rights and animal rights among those taken into account.

It beat a host of other national retailers in the furniture category and was the only company to achieve a perfect score. A full rundown of the companies ranked in the guide can be accessed via this link.*

Myakka founder and director Georgie Hopkins said: “We work really hard to ensure that we trade fairly and ethically with openness and transparency; it is at the heart of what we do. So we’re thrilled and proud to have earned our place, once again, in the Good Shopping Guide, and with a perfect score.”
