Entu, the home improvement services group, has divested its fitted furniture business Norwood Interiors, deeming it non-core.

It has sold the loss-making kitchens, bedrooms and bathroom furniture company to investment group GPS Capital for a nominal sum of £1.

Entu signposted its intention to offload Norwood earlier in the summer, saying the Yorkshire based retailer didn’t fit its wider operational strategy.

Norwood Interiors (UK) Ltd reported an EBIT deficit before impairment of £248,000 on sales of £1.87m for the six months to end April 2015. It trades primarily from its showrooms in Leeds and Brighouse.

Altrincham registered GPS Capital backs companies in special situations, with business turnarounds among its specialisms.

Manchester based Entu, set up in 2008, is a multi-product and service home improvement group providing energy efficiency products and services to UK homeowners. Its other brands include Weatherseal and Zenith.
