Home furnishings chain Dunelm has acquired the brand rights of filled bedding supplier Fogarty, one its key suppliers.

The deal—terms of which have not been disclosed—adds the Fogarty brand to its existing stable of marques that already includes Dorma.

No mention was made of Fogarty’s Boston based operation and no-one at the Lincolnshire firm could be immediately reached for comment.

Dunelm said: “We are pleased to announce the acquisition of the Fogarty brand and trademarks on a worldwide basis. Fogarty, which can trace its history back almost 200 years, is a leading British brand with a reputation for high quality pillows, duvets and mattress protection products.

Dunelm currently sells a number of Fogarty products both through its stores and online. The supplier—which lost £520,000 on sales of £33.2m in 2013–14—has also historically sold through other retailers including Argos and Amazon.

CEO Will Adderley said: "I am delighted that we have acquired the rights to the Fogarty brand. This investment, as with the acquisition of Dorma a few years ago, adds an important brand to our portfolio. It further strengthens our specialist homewares retail proposition and provides a number of potential growth opportunities for the medium term."
