The UK arm of Italian furniture über-brands Cassina, Poltrona Frau and Cappellini enjoyed strong sales growth in 2014 and has since expanded its showroom footprint.

Revenue at Poltrona Frau (UK) increased by 37.6 per cent to £2.4m, thanks to increased sales from its Cassina showroom at Brompton Road in London.

Other income—which includes commission on sales via third party stockists—was also up by around a third to £613,602.

The company has this September opened a dedicated London showroom at Fulham Road for its Poltrona Frau brand, and could open a Cappellini branded space next.

It said it “would like to open a showroom for each brand over the next five years with a view to bringing the company into a profitable position by 2018.” The wholly-owned UK subsidiary narrowed its 2014 pre-tax deficit by 12 per cent to £558,662.
