nextHomeMaidstoneGeneral merchandise retailer Next posted 7.3 per cent sales growth for its third quarter, driven by a near double-digit rise in Directory sales.


The fashion-to-furniture retailer said Retail (store) sales were up 5.4 per cent with revenue from its Directory web and catalogue business up 9.8 per cent.


nextAAG28Oct2015Some of that was down to the timing of the Directory summer sale, Next said, adding that marked down product sold faster than full priced merchandise across the brand.


Full price sales across the Next business were up 6 per cent for the quarter (to 24th October) of which sales from newly opened space contributed 1.7 per cent.


Next said it expects to generates full year pre-tax profits of between £810m–£845m, which would represent growth of between 3.6pc–8pc.
