The UK arm of Swedish luxury beds and mattress manufacturer Hästens Beds enjoyed strong growth in the year to end December.

Revenue at the Köping based manufacturer’s UK retail subsidiary reached £1.15m in 2014, up over 27 per cent on the previous year.

It said its revenue growth was a result of it opening a new store in London and supplying a new concession at Harrods, the London department store.

Sales growth was particularly strong in the autumn quarter, CEO Robert Carlén said, adding that it has since added two further sales points in the UK meaning its growth story should continue.

2014 revenue worldwide for the premium firm was up 15 per cent to 442m Swedish Kroner (about £34m).
