Trade kitchens supplier Howdens has entered into a long term agreement to occupy a new-build distribution centre near Raunds.

Howdens says it plans to move into the facility—located to the east of its nearby existing national distribution centre—in the second half of 2016.

The new DC spans 670,000sqft and is located at Warth Park in the Northamptonshire market town. Howdens has continued expanding its customer-facing footprint so far this year too.

It has opened 25 new depots in the year to date and says it remains on track to open 30 in all, bringing the UK-wide total to 614.

Howdens’ model is built around galvanising small builders and kitchen installers to champion its products among consumers. It said today that second half sales are up 12.8 per cent, bringing the year to date growth (44 weeks) figure to 12 per cent.
