Furniture retailer Home24 has agreed to buy rival Fashion for Home GmbH in a move it says advances its position as Europe’s biggest online home and living retailer.

The deal sees the entire share capital of Fashion for Home transfer to Home24 group, though no further terms were immediately disclosed.

Like Home24, Fashion for Home is based in Berlin, and trades online in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. It also has seven physical showrooms located across Europe.

It specialises in premium designer furniture and will continue to operate as a separate brand, including online, though some of its operations will merge.

Domenico Cipolla, CEO of Home24 AG: “We have known the founders Marc Appelhoff and Christoph Cordes for years and together we have worked towards a common vision: to revolutionise the way people buy furniture today. Together we will keep on working under one umbrella to push this vision forward.”
