UK retailers are confident of higher sales through 2015, according to new research.

A report by TLT, a law firm, says retailers expect sales growth of 4.7 per cent this year, which would likely see the sector outstrip the wider British economy, expected to grow 2.4 per cent.

Its Retail Growth Strategies Report found six in ten of those surveyed to be anticipating higher sales in 2015 with over half expecting the Home category to be positive against last year.

The survey was carried out among senior leaders at 100 of the UK’s largest retailers. However, a third of retailers said they were expecting to cut prices during the year.
