Manufacturer Serene Uph is trading at the site formerly occupied by Port Talbot sofa supplier Celtic Leather and Fabric (CL&F).

The newco was formed late 2014, and appears to the new name and operating company for the business of CLF, which was placed into liquidation through Gary Stones of Swansea based Stones & Co on 6th January.

CL&F debts totalled less than £50k with the taxman owed over £9k and small five-figure sums outstanding to a handful of suppliers including textile firms and component companies.

Director Brian Baggs is listed as the sole director at Serene Uph, while CL&F’s two largest shareholders — David Lewis and Matt Lewis — are the two contacts listed on the Serene Uph website. Both firms traded from Unit 1, Henshaw Street in the South Wales town.

The new business is not thought to have any link to Midlands importer and wholesaler Serene Furnishings.
