The director makeup at members home and lifestyle retailer Achica has changed with one of its past backers switching its board representative.

Daniel Waterhouse joined as a director at the heavily invested in ecommerce retailer last month. Mr Waterhouse is a partner at Balderton Capital.

He replaces another Balderton representative — the high profile venture investor Barry Maloney.

Achica CEO Steve Robinson said: “It is routine for VC Board directors to change periodically. Daniel has been known to members of the Board for many years and has helped Achica over that time and we're delighted to get his support at the Board.”

The firm — which lost £9m before tax on sales of £37.1m in 2012 — was due to file 2013 accounts over four months ago by 30th September.

Mr Robinson added: “There were some tax items that we have been finalising before completing our accounts. These have now been resolved and we hope to sign the accounts this week.”
