Switzerland based furniture chain Fly is to close its ten stores in the country putting over 200 jobs at risk, its owner has announced.

The stores — which represent more than half of a group of 19 acquired by the Conforama furniture and electricals retailer a year ago — are earmarked for closure by Easter.

Conforama acquired Fly’s Swiss business in early 2014, converting six of the stores to the Lipo fascia and three to Conforama.

The remaining ten trading as Fly now face closure, though the group hopes to be able to relocate workers and find new owners for the stores. The Fly furniture fascia is best known in France, where it trades from around 80 stores.
