Vitra is to relaunch its shopfitting business as part of a plan to harmonise all its component parts — including its Furniture and Office divisions — in the UK.

The design company says it will be the first time it has operated as a single entity in the UK, and it hopes to take advantage of its shared expertise at its Clerkenwell hub in London.

Shopfitting division VitraShop — which brings together its Vizona, Visplay and Ansorg brands — will be launched at the Retail Design Expo event next month.

Tony Ash, md for Vitra UK, USA and Middle East, said: “Vitra’s beginnings in the 1930s lay in shopfitting. Today, although [we] now design and manufacture products for the home, office, education, hospitality, public spaces and retail stores, our shopfitting brands remain world class leaders, with clients such as Marks & Spencer, Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren, Jaguar Land Rover, Ted Baker and McLaren.

He added that operating as a single entity in the UK would “make us an even stronger organisation, and sharing our knowledge will bring even greater success.”
