Premium timber and resilient flooring supplier Kährs Group has acquired a stake in the Croatian manufacturer Pozgaj Flooring for an undisclosed sum.

The deal gives Kährs — which sells across both the retail and specifier sectors and has significant UK distribution — a manufacturing foothold in Southern Europe, and adds native Croatian oak to its product roster.

Sweden headquartered Kährs has taken a minority stake in the company, but has a call option that means it can acquire the rest of the business if it chooses at a later date.

Pozgaj Flooring was recently formed out of the wider Pozgaj Group, whose other timber products include wood panels for use in furniture production.

Kährs’ UK division is based out of West Sussex and had sales north of £9m in 2013.
