The heritage Allders of Croydon department store has reopened under new ownership and is now trading as Zervo.

Selling across multiple product categories spanning furniture to fashion, Zervo opened last Friday under the stewardship of Clive Coombes, whose other business interests include electricals retailing.

The building — reportedly the third largest department store in Britain — last traded as Allders in 2012, before collapsing into administration with the then owners blaming the impact of the summer riots across London the year before.

The retail store was resurrected again last year, trading as Croydon Outlet Village, and was home to a number of retail concessions. However, it ran into further problems in the spring of this year.
