Revenue advanced for a seventh straight year at Northern Ireland based multi-fascia department store retailer SD Kells in the year to January 19, 2018.


The privately-owned chain, whose store roster includes three beds and bedding showrooms at its sites in Lurgan, Enniskillen and Lisnaskea, grew sales 3.8 percent to £12.2 million in 2017–18.

Gross margin widened 60 basis points to 23.7 percent with profits* up 18 percent to £914,285 for the retailer, which has expanded each year since 2010–11 (sales of £8.7m).

Net cash generated from operating activities totalled £672,699 (2017: £720,135) with year-end cash totalling £569,721 (2017: £523,480), reflecting shareholder dividends and debt pay-down.
