TJ Hughes, the inexpensive North West department store retailer that majors in home categories, has returned to its former distribution centre, consolidating its warehousing in the process.

The Juneja-family owned retailer has relocated to Space 170, Edge Lane on the outskirts of Liverpool, consolidating its DCs into a single site.

The 170,000sqft. facility was formerly occupied by TJ Hughes — then under different ownership — before it was vacated in 2011.

The Furnishing Report revealed the discount store chain had sold a 35 percent stake in the business to Hong Kong based Right Inc. last November.

The investor agreed to commit £10 million to the Liverpool based retailer including supporting its planned warehouse move. TJ Hughes posted 5.8 percent sales growth to £67.3 million last year*.
