Scandinavian premium furniture and accents franchise retailer IDdesign, part of the same group that owns ILVA, has launched its first UK showroom.
Through a local partner, the Danish brand has opened a store within the Red Brick Mill home furnishings complex at Batley in West Yorkshire.
IDdesign's product offer takes in the full complement of living, dining and bedroom furniture, as well as carrying a programme of home accents.
The first-floor space is being operated by Mohammed Dabharia and Sofia Akbar, whose new company Moda & Soak takes its name from the initial letters of their names.
Its new Batley space is one of 23 IDdesign stores located by franchisees across the world, predominantly in the Middle East.
IDdesign itself is the international franchise arm of the IDEmøbler business, one of the largest interiors retailers in Denmark and Scandinavia.
It shares common ownership with ILVA, which traded three large UK superstores between 2006–2008, while its biggest shareholder is Lars Larsen, owner of global furniture business JYSK.
