The md of of Steinhoff's German kitchen and bathroom cabinet making divisions has completed a takeover as part of an investor group also comprising a nearby kitchen maker.

Georg Billert has joined forces with strategic investor Schüller-Möbelwerke — one of Germany's largest kitchen producers — to buy out the Impuls and Puris businesses.

Based at Brilon in central Germany, the co-located Impuls and Puris factories produce volume-oriented kitchens and bathroom cabinets respectively.

Annual sales are worth more than €400 million, with around three quarters of its production destined for its domestic market.

Together with its Steinpol sofa making unit in Poland, the Impuls/Puris division formed the largest part of Steinhoff's European manufacturing operations.
