Kingcome Sofas, the only manufacturing component of international fabrics and furnishings supplier Colefax Group, enjoyed top and bottom line growth in 2017–18.

The small Devon sofa maker, which also has a showroom in London, grew sales 11 percent to £2.62 million in the year to April 30, with further growth on the way with its order book "significantly ahead" of last year.

Exports were worth under £350,000 of its sales and represent a growth opportunity given the weakness of sterling, the company said. Trading profits for the division advanced more than five-fold to £130,000.

Parent company Colefax is best known for its much-larger fabrics division, which houses brands including Colefax and Fowler, Cowtan and Tout, Jane Churchill, Manuel Canovas and Larsen.

Group net income net income advanced 55 percent to £4.1 million on revenue up 6.9 percent to £86.1 million.
