Mike Storey will return to G Plan in September
Seasoned upholstery executive Mike Storey will go back to Sofa Brands International this autumn, taking the post of commercial director at sofa maker G Plan.

He joins from Ashley Manor, where he has been sales director since leaving Sofa Brands 18 months ago.

Ian Oliver, CEO at Sofa Brands, this afternoon (Jul. 26) told The Furnishing Report: "I was sorry that Mike decided to leave and I am delighted he has agreed to come back.

"He has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the sector and will add much value to G Plan and its future success."

He will rejoin G Plan in September.

Mr Storey had been appointed sales director at G Plan back in 2016 following an 11-year spell with sister company Parker Knoll and the, now-retired, Derwent brand. He worked with Natuzzi prior to that. Former G Plan sales director Scott McLaren left earlier this summer.

Ashley Manor paid tribute to Mike Storey, saying that while his time with the business had been short-lived, it has been "a strong partnership and he has fitted in well to the culture and ethos of the business."

The Dudley company added that everyone wished Mr Storey all the best and it looked to the future with exciting plans which will be announced in due course regarding his successor.

CEO Mark Smith said: "Mike has made an immediate impact to our business and I would personally like to thank him for his hard work and dedication. I wish him the very best."
