More than 5,000 attended the Manchester Furniture Show last month
More than 80 percent of suppliers at last month's Manchester Furniture Show have already rebooked to exhibit at next year's event, organisers have said.

They added that a number of those — besides rebooking — have also requested more exhibition space at the show, which next year takes place July 14–16, 2019.

It follows the first outing for the MidPoint exhibition at the Manchester Furniture Show in 2018, which helped it to attract over 5,000 visitors in all to the Manchester Central event last month.

"The addition of MidPoint, the enhanced visitor marketing activity and investment in our hosted VIP scheme, attracted a larger number of influential and high spending buyers than ever before,' said show director Cleere Scamell.

Attendance was fractionally down on last year, organisers said in a press release, largely the result of the hot weather throughout, and the Sunday clashing with the climax of both the World Cup and Wimbledon.

Spink & Edgar exhibited as part of MidPoint. Sales director Tina Reilly said: "We weren’t sure what to expect but are thrilled with the buyers we’ve seen and the positive reaction to our sofas. The show has a lovely feel and we will definitely be back next year."

Steve Lamb, UK sales director at VIDA Living, which showed from the Main Hall, said: "We’ve had our best ever Manchester. We’ve seen new buyers, especially from Ireland and high-end UK stores and we couldn’t be more pleased. There is no hesitation in booking our space — and hopefully larger space — for next year."
