Home sales have fallen each week for John Lewis since May 20–26
Home sales fell for a ninth straight week for John Lewis with the department store chain finding no room for bulky indoor goods in its commentary of weekly product winners.

Revenue for the home directorate missed last year's total by 7.8 percent in the seven days to July 28, as warm weather continued to send shoppers searching for outdoor goods and holiday lines such as beach towels.

Overall sales were off 2.2 percent at £77.8 million with fashion revenue declining 2.0 percent compared with the same week in 2017.

Not every category was in decline, however, with electricals and home technology sales climbing 3.9 percent year-over-year buoyed by higher demand for mobiles and small electrical items.
