Oak Furniture Land introduced SofaStore late 2014
JB Global, owner of Oak Furnitureland, has retired its SofaStore ecommerce website, instead incorporating its upholstery ranges into its main offer.

The dedicated SofaStore.com website — which it ran alongside OakFurnitureLand.co.uk — now reverts to the principal website as JB Global consolidates its online assets.

Its plan for the SofaStore.com fascia overall, omnipresent across its circa 100 store portfolio, is not yet known, though may become clearer next week.

On Wednesday, a spokesperson for Oak Furnitureland said they would endeavour to get a statement from the company's retail director, but later said they would not be able to provide something before next week.

The Furnishing Report had asked if JB Global was planning to phase out the SofaStore brand completely, with recent store launches for the Oak Furnitureland brand having featured a new format that showcases a wider range of products, including upholstery, in the main offer.

After piloting other upholstery brands, including OFL Sofas and Just Sofas, JB Global introduced the SofaStore brand late 2014.

On Boxing Day that year, it rolled out the fascia across the entire Oak Furnitureland estate — which at the time numbered 57 units — and ran a small number of dedicated SofaStore shops in locations including Croydon, Rotherham and Stockton.
