Cintique completes its move today (Aug. 16).
Furniture maker Cintique's move to the site of sister business Celebrity Motion Furniture won't compromise its identity, says Wayne Hollis, md of the two businesses.

The heritage show-wood upholstery brand completes its move to Celebrity's Huthwaite factory today (Aug. 16).

It follows a consultation process regarding the closure of the Sandiacre factory where it was until now based (see related).

Mr Hollis said: "We're keen to keep the Cintique branding and develop the range so Cintique has its own identity. Both the Cintique and Celebrity teams are excited about revitalising the Cintique offering and I'd like to emphasise that there are no plans to merge the two brands.

"Cintique will also benefit from the investments that it has already made in computerised cutting machinery at Celebrity and the expansion of the development team."

In a statement, Celebrity added that it aimed to make the transfer as smooth as possible, aided by both companies being part of the JDP group and already sharing IT support and order systems. Both brands will show at Long Point and the Autumn Furniture Show, with new products planned for next year's January Furniture Show.

By telephone, chairman John Payne told The Furnishing Report earlier this month the group hoped that the majority of employees from its Sandiacre plant would be able to either move to Huthwaite or its other factory in Long Eaton, where its white-label production is moving.
