More than 900 items belonging to collapsed German cabinet maker CS Schmalmöbel (CS Schmal) are to be auctioned off this autumn following the business' closure earlier this summer.

Auction house Surplex will — until mid-September — sell off machinery ranging from CNC machines to edge-banding equipment belonging to the Waldmohr based business.

CS Schmal, which employed 400 people and had sales of €60 million, majored in ready-to-assemble cabinet furniture and had a limited presence on UK retailers' shop floors.

The company had been sold by Nolte SE to Swiss/German investment company Gramax Capital in the summer of 2016, but ran into supply chain problems late last year.
