Dudley sofa group DM Midlands, owner of upholstery brands Ashley Manor and Alexander & James, grew half year sales after it made headway in the first quarter.

Revenue inched 1.4 percent* ahead to 1.64 billion Thai baht (£39m) in the six months to end June, after high growth in the first three months of 2018 outweighed a mid-single digit decline in the second quarter.

Figures for the first half of 2018 — along with those of Alstons, with whom it shares an owner in common — were disclosed in interim results for TCM Corp.

The Thai conglomerate acquired a majority position in DM Midlands in 2016.
