Lincolnshire sofa maker Lebus Upholstery has become the latest business to achieve 'Certified Company' status, underscoring its commitment to producing safe products.

It is part of the 'Compliance Scheme for the Fire Performance of Upholstered Furniture,’ a recently-introduced initiative by FIRA, the Furniture Industry Research Association.

To gain 'Certified Status,' participants pass a comprehensive audit that demonstrates robust processes and procedures in place to demonstrate due diligence compliance with the UK's Furniture & Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations (FFFSR).

This included checking their process management systems, control of materials, traceability, compliance testing, labelling and crisis management.

"Retailers will be reassured that our processes and procedures relating to flammability are vigorous, which in the long-term benefits their consumer," said Lebus operations director John Brewster in a press release.
