Global upholstery producer Natuzzi has lofty ambitions for the UK market in 2015 as it looks to build on solid growth here this year.

The Italian headquartered conglomerate is on track to have increased UK output by 40 per cent this year, a source told the Furnishing Report, with internal targets budgeting for 50 per cent growth for the UK in 2015.

The world situation is improving too for the company, with third quarter revenue rising and trading deficits being narrowed, thanks to improved efficiencies and cost cuts.

Natuzzi said three month sales to end September climbed 8.2 per cent to €111.7m, including a 20 per cent hike in Natuzzi brand sales in its EMEA region, taking in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The Santeramo based group narrowed its operating loss for the quarter by 11 per cent to €7.8m, saying it had additionally benefitted from lower costs, with selling, general and administrative expenses being cut by €2.8m.
