Profits near halved as 2013–14 sales dropped 6.5 per cent at Trendsetter Home Furnishings, the company behind the Fine Bedding Company brand.

The Manchester based company posted pre-tax earnings of £543k on revenue of £15.3m in the year to end January.

The accounts pre-date Trendsetter later going on to acquire the duvet and pillow division of major textiles supplier Delbanco Meyer & Company, which it announced in May of this year (see related).

Cash generation in the reviewed period was strong, with Trendsetter bringing in a net £956k cash from operations (2013: £1.5m) though overall net funds declined to £2.1m (2013: £2.4m), which was largely the result of year-on-year capex doubling to about £1m.
